I've been debating to upgrade to a e6750 for the pass week or so. So i come here to ask you guys, how big an upgrade will i see if i were to upgrade?

Current system specs:

P4 3.0
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2
X1950 Pro 512mb PCI-E

I would like to just upgrade my processor and mobo. Also if i do decide to upgrade, i would be overclocking.

Currently im looking at:

GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
Tuniq Tower 120

Just need a few inputs so i can make my final decision. I'm starting to get tired of being hyped everyday then canceling my order before i click submit.

I believe i would be mostly gaming like on wow & trying new games out. Maybe every ocne in a while jump into some video editing and programming because of school and to mess around.

a big diff.

my presler overclocked to 3.6/240fsb (2x .65nm P4 2MBL2) does super pi 1M in 32 seconds, however my friends C2D 2mb @ 2.8 does it 10 seconds faster!

I'd the difference would be quite enormous. Even the dual-core P4's (aka Pentium D) weren't up to snuff.

Looking at your specs you're one of those few people who would benefit even in games from a CPU upgrade. An x1950 coupled with a P4 TT

all 3 of those are great choices. the only thing that you might upgrade on that is to get the abit ip35 pro over the p35c ds3r for an extra $40 or so. If you can find the ip 35 pro in stock that is. It was OOS when I started looking at mobos, came back, sold out AGAIN, then I jumped on it, now it's OOS AGAIN. That is all newegg, however, I haven't looked for it at TD, clubIT, mwave, etc.
