27" CRT. Wife and I watch TV in the bedroom sometimes, but it's never for more than an hour at a time so I haven't bothered upgrading to HD in there. Also, it's inside of a cabinet so we can hide it if we have company over or whatever. I'm sure I'll step up to an LCD or something at some point but I'm in no rush.

Our situation is similiar and our LCD picks up an HD signal without a box thanks to the QAM tuner.

We had an Apex 13" for a few years until we recently upgraded to a 32" LCD thanks to CostCo

Not that it's any of your business but it hasn't hampered our intimacy at all. As a matter of fact we usually only watch the morning news on it. When 37" 1080p LCD's drop to $799 I'll give it to a relative as a gift and upgrade. Maybe we'd watch it more if the remote and sound didn't suck.

My wife has to have a TV running. We just hung a 42" Plasma screen on the wall. We are both having a bit of trouble getting used to it. It seems surreal to have these huge heads looming over the bed.

One of the positives, I can now watch TV with my contacts out (wearing coke bottle glasses). I had trouble resolving faces on our old 27" CRT.

To explain: I'm currently living with my best friend at his house. I'm moving out (b/c he's getting married) into an apartment with my best female friend. She already has her own tv, blah blah in the living room. This tv/my 360 will be in my room as "my domain". Just to clear things up. Don't have the option of putting it in the living room, as I'd like to be able to watch tv/play 360/etc without asking her to turn off whatever crap she's watching

in for drama

She's my best friend...she's like a dood/sister to me. I wouldn't have done it if I didn't know what I was getting myself into. 🙂

yeah, a good friend/former roommate of mine moved in with his life-long best friend just over a year ago. friend's a dude, his best friend is a chick. of course, they now mate like rabbits. you know what you're getting yourself into. all it takes is a little gin.........

seriously, whether or not you both move in together as enemies or best friends for life, the dude-chick cohabitation thing will invariably escalate into a hook-up at some point.

EDIT: Oh yeah...I believe it's customary to ask for pics?
How are we supposed to give a proper TV recommendation when we don't know what your new roommate/future FWB looks like?

She's the one on the left.

And I seriously doubt we're gonna hookup...we know each other too well. You don't have a female friend like that? (That's me in the middle, kinda toasty)

Take the hint, man. 🙂
She's cute. Looks like the kind of girl I usually go after. Good luck with that no hook up thing.

Thanks 🙂 I actually wanted her when I first met her...then grew out of it. I don't forsee it as a problem at the moment.

Anyway, went to BB for lunch - they have the Westy 32" LCD TV (720p) on sale for $699. I have a few gift cards that would lower that into the mid 500's - is that a decent TV? Think that was one of the BF TV's.

Wait never mind, does 1080i. BB doesn't put it on their website or in the store, but according to Westy's website, it does. Anyone have thoughts on it?

Pulled the trigger on the Samsung 46" DLP from Amazon for $995 w/ free shipping and no tax. I looked yesterday at Best Buy at the 32" Westy for just $300 less (albeit, would have been $400 including a gift card I have) and decided bigger is better. Yes, it's for a bedroom, but believe me, I'm getting enough. (I turned down the GF last night because I was tired and she was a lil upset...we "made up" this morning though) 🙂 She has to have it at least once a day...so I don't think it's going to ruin any intimacy. It's the non slim version like the new DLP's (only about 2" thicker in depth, about 20lbs heavier) and has the outputs on the back as opposed to the sides.

We may end up putting it in the living room depending on how much I watch it and whatnot, so it's not like I don't have the option of moving it.
