It seems to be 90% successful. It is just a matter of whether you have to rise the 1.65 default vcore voltage.

Check the CPU database at overclockers.com.

Yes, please use the search feature of this forum. I know it's easier to just ask. But the search function is there for some very good purposes.

Go to overclockers.com and look up the 700e. At the top of the page you will see:

Links to Intel® S Spec Chart's
Celeron
Pentium II
Pentium III

Go to Pentium III and it will tell which 700e's are cB0. Like a SL3XX is cB0. Also, I just build a PC for a friend with the PIII 700e SL3XX, an Asus CUV4X motherboard and a standard heat sink and fan. I could reach 933mhz with 1.85 volts but it was not stable on 3D games. Always remember you MUST use good RAM or memory when trying to overclock. This is why I couldn't hit 933mhz. Also you should get an Alpha heat sink and fan with Artic Silver thermal paste. This will give you the best chance of hitting 933mhz stable. My friends is running at 882mhz - 1.75 volts completely stable. Also, your milage will vary from cpu to cpu.

I had to raise my vcore to 1.85 to get it going at 933

it is possible i can have it lower but the odd way the CUSL2 handles voltages i raised it that high and its been working ok so im going to leave it there for now.

Ive had my 700e up to 980mhz so far at only 1.75v. I can boot and run windows and play a little Q3 at 933 at default voltage......but i really like to set it at 1.70v to be sure its getting enough juice.

i got my cbo 700e at kdcomputers.com since they guarantee cbo and they have great cusotmer service!
i bought it retail boxed and it was flip chip. i have it in a asus slotket i also got from them and its all on a asus P3V4X MB..........for a couple weeks now ive been running at 945@1.75v and its totally stable! Q3, seti@home, prime95.......my 700e eats it up!..lol

just remeber there not all the same........but you still should get a decent OC out of a 700e.

I got mine from Compuwiz1 and it runs 933 at default voltage. It will run SETI, UT and Half-Life. What more do you need. : )

I used to have a 700 cb0 that was a dud. It would not do more then 800 mhz stable at any voltage. So they are not all great overclockers. I do not remember the week of chip it was as I do not have the box right now. My ram and system is good so I know it was the chip. I was able to sell the chip in a system I built.

It's possible. Check the Intel Specification Update or the S-Spec list to determine the right s-codes to get cB0 processors. I believe the retail 700e FC-PGA cB0 code is SL45Y.

I bought one just for fun, as an overclocking project. My twin Celery 366/550 BP6 rig was really fast enough, but I dug out my old BH6 1.01 and popped in a 700e on an MSI slotket board to see what I could get all that old hardware to do with a $190 processor. I now use this 933MHz rig as my primary puter for gaming, etc. :)
