How big, is big enough?

I'm thinking of getting a 62" DLP once we move into our new home.....Large finished basements come in handy.

I sit about 8 feet away from it and think my 65" TV is too small.

42" Plasma is about the minimum but by the time I get one a very good 50" will be well within my price range

if you can't sit 4x to 8x the diagonal length from the tv, your tv is too big.

for widescreen its probably more like 3x to 6x

I have a 65" in my apartment, and I don't think it's too big. I think the 74" would have been stupid big, though. Didn't get that. I think that 65" is the best, with 74" being too much.
