Obviously, the traffic stop didn't last long enough for me to count snowflakes to a million.

So, how big is a million snowflakes?

And for the sake of calculations, let's assume no decay - you know, like in all those math problems where you ignore real-life stuff for the sake of calculating.

The snow I was counting was little tiny balls of ice, maybe 1-16th of an inch in diameter. Not individual snowflakes, come to think of it.
 
1,000,000 average snowflakes placed end to end reaches approximately 7.9 miles. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
