how big does the hole in my case have to be, and how big do the screws have to be for these

EDIT: and also, are the ones i chose up there better than the regular ones (these ? what does mk2 stand for?

Just long enough to fit through. If you are using those small case fan screws, then just use the washers. Otherwise I use 6-32 x 1 1/4 size screws.

What I suggest it to go to a Lowes or similar hardware store. You can get washers like that for usually around 78 cents for a dozen, that's what i did. Screws are about the same. Look in the plumbing dept. for rubber washers. Some stores might also have them in hardware. 😉

5 grommets like that are about $1 at Sears Hardware and I imagine most hardware stores. I bought size 11/32x 1/8 and they are perfect. I use thumbscrews with them and they barely fit.

The "mk2" stands for "mark 2" meaning "revision #2". The mk2's are actual grommets, they actually snap into a hole in the case and remain there. The other ones are just flat rubber washers.

It's hard to say exactly what size hole you'll need without having the actual grommet to look at. My guess is at least ¼", if not slightly bigger.

For screws, either 6-32 x 1¼ or 8-32 x 1¼" will work,although 1½" long may work better. You'll also need #6 or #8 flat washers and 6-32 or 8-32 nuts as well.
