How big are the 8800GTS compared to x1900xts?

I don't think the GTS is any longer then the XT. It certainly doesn't hang over the edge of the mobo like the GTX. What kind of case do you have?

Some cheap raidmax thing that I modded up with my dremel (btw, if you buy a case and plan to mod it with your dremel make sure its made out of aluminum and not steel), I don't think newegg sells it anymore. I should be alright though, my 1900xt fit and I don't even remember it being tight or anything.

8800GTS is as long as the 8800GTX. Both are longer than any ATI card, unless you are talking about the added length of the power cables.

EDIT: Oops, my bad...8800GTS is shorter than 8800GTX...

Yikes, you should look again. GTS and GTX arent even close to the same length. If you've got a 1900xts in there you shouldnt have any problem fitting a GTS.

Same length. I just replaced my X1900XT with an 8800GTS. If they aren't the exact same length, they are extremely close.

How long (in inches) are the GTS & GTX? My case has a fair amount of room, but I'm currently running 6600GT. Here's a decent shot of the layout:

That's an A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo with the Premium heatpipe, btw. A very easy to do mod if you're nF4 fan dies.

You will definitely get a GTS in there with no problem, and I'm pretty sure a GTX would fit as well. The GTS is 9" and the GTX is 10.5". That is the length of the PCB, not from the end of the backplane bracket to the end of the card.

For reference, a full size ATX board is 12" wide by 9.6" deep (305mm x 244mm).

Sweet. I'm planning on upgrading to an 8900GTX and 24WMGX3 (when they're available).
