probably repost, but a new tunnel was found in San Diego connecting to Tijuana. And they also found 25 ton of pot.

El jefe is not going to be happy.

San Diego and Tijuana, the marijuana country, are linked by a secret passage as we have just come to get knowledge of. The fed officials have unearthed a huge tunnel that connects San Diego directly to a range of warehouses that are situated in Tijuana and are focused on the sole purpose of producing drugs.

The officials have been able to seize in excess of 25 tons of the marijuana drugs from the various warehouses that are connected through the tunnel that they have uncovered. One can not help but admire the prowess of the creator of this tunnel as it could never have been an easy task and certainly made tougher by the fact that they had to conceal their goings on from the general public.

The tunnel runs across the borders of the countries and spans over 600 meters which is equivalent to the length of six full size football fields. The feds’ unearthing this very tunnel led to the recovery of the drugs from either country. Huge quantities of drugs that were present should suggest that it was no small time dealer that was doing the dealings.

Handling mass scale production and marketing could only have been possible if a big time drug racket from Mexico had gotten anything to do with it. Authorities of their country had earlier been able to recover in excess of a hundred and thirty tons of marijuana near a Tijuana business hub.

However, as of right now, these to happenings should be looked at as arbitrarily exclusive as no evidence of a connection has been revealed yet. However, criminal organizations are always hurt badly when these kinds of raids come through successfully; it makes them have to rethink their strategies.

The marijuana that has been recovered has an estimated net worth of somewhere in the proximity of twenty million dollars. If an organization had anything to do with this then they would have had to incur humongous amounts of losses owing to the raid.

The discovery of an underground tunnel used to carry marijuana to and fro between Tijuana and San Diego was made on Tuesday when officers of the task force followed a 53-foot trailer after finding its actions suspicious. The trailer itself was 53-foot in length and it was stuffed with marijuana equal the weight of 10 tons.

By PETER SANDERS

Federal authorities seized 25 tons of marijuana and discovered an 1,800-foot-long tunnel for smugglers that led from Mexico to a warehouse in San Diego.
The discovery was the latest example of the often-extreme methods used by Mexican cartels to smuggle drugs past the phalanx of law enforcement in the San Diego border area.
In this case, authorities followed a tractor trailer after it left the San Diego warehouse Tuesday night and stopped it at a nearby checkpoint in Temecula. On board, they found roughly 10 tons of dope and arrested a man and a woman inside the vehicle.
Federal agents then obtained a search warrant and raided the warehouse, where they found an additional 15 tons of marijuana inside, stacked on pallets.
Searching the warehouse, they also found the entrance to a tunnel that was dug roughly 20 feet underground and equipped with lighting and a ventilation system. The tunnel was about four feet high by three feet wide.
U.S. Officials, who continued their investigation Thursday, said it was likely the tunnel had been in operation about a month.
The tunnel straddled the U.S. border with Mexico, where it ended below another warehouse. Acting on a tip from U.S. agents, Mexican authorities raided that building and seized an additional five tons of marijuana.
No one was arrested during the building raids. U.S. authorities said that the street value of the marijuana totaled more than $20 million.
"I can promise you there are some very unhappy people in the cartel," said John Morton, director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in a statement. "This discovery again shows their growing desperation in the face of heightened border security."
Federal agents in recent years have found a handful of drug and human smuggling tunnels in the San Diego area—typically before the tunnels were fully operational.

Don't know, but 25 is more than one, so it is "Tons".

You are welcome.
