My neighbors that are mooching off of my wifi. I live in a house with 3 flats. I would like them to pay me but they haven't offered. The last person who did pay me moved out 6 months ago.

I haven't given a single one of them permission to use, or the passkey for the network but they have shared it among themselves. I've considered just locking them out by changing the password but these are young underemployed millenials with no-carrier smart phones who would be traumatized by the sudden loss of 'net.

The gateway is my ubuntu powered router, so I could literally do anything with their traffic.

Change the password. If it's that important to them they can pay you. Does your ISP have rules about sharing the service? Are you certain none of them will download child porn through YOUR connection?

Slap Opendns on the router. Block DNS so dnsmasq forces the DNS pushed to all computers. :twisted:

What if one was downloading child pornography? Who would be held accountable? Would it be you? I seriously doubt that someone is downloading illegal material, but you never know.

This. It's fun to troll, but I'd rather not open myself up to potential liability issues. Change your password and be done with it.

The upside thing is gold, but to drive them up the wall, just restrict their max download speed to like 100kbs - fast enough to be usable, but infuriating.

I don't understand this. If you didn't give them the passkey then how are they sharing it amongst themselves?

Also, just change your password. Who gives a fuck who they are. Cutting off their internet may inspire them to go do something productive.

If your router supports it, I've seen ways to force welcome screens that make you install software. That could be evil.
