Just wondering, since I'm trying to get a decent vid card to replace the pos card I have now

Running a Dell workstation 410 with two p2 350's, dual boot with 98 and NT. I know 98 doesn't use the second proc just including it to info sakes.

Any AGP card will run in any speed AGP slot. In terms of the performance difference between x 2 and x 4 there is very little if any at all. The biggest performance difference comes from moving from x 1 to x 2.

AGP is a joke!!!!!!!

Without AGP T&L would not be possible. The extra vertices that are sent to the video require the higher bandwidth of the AGP bus. That's the main reason why there are no differences between 3dfx's boards on AGP or PCI: they don't have T&L.

In general there is only about 1 or 2fps at most between 2x & 4x AGP so you will have no problem running your card in a 2x AGP slot.
