I have fallen into a bad habbit of eating fast food (typically Wendy's) for lunch at work most days. I exercise regulary. Is this fast food habbit gonna harm me ?

It's good for you. When you get your heart rate up by exercising, it pushes the blockages from the fat out of the way.

Totally depends on what you eat at Wendys. If you do salads, chili, potatoes it is not as bad as a Double with Cheese combo.

Well if you consider bad being:

Diabetes
High cholestrol
high blood pressure
low energy and sluggishness
bowel irregularity
vitamin deficiency
bad breath

Then yes, it's bad. Otherwise if you don't care about the above, then yes it's great.

Unless your orders consist mainly of salads, potatoes, and/or chili - then it's fine.

I usually eat a side Caesar salad + a combo (either #6(spicy chik) or #1 (single burger))

Seriously though......... 5 days a week is too much........... your tri-glycerids must be through the roof. Maybe once or twice a week........ but if I was you I'd start brown baggin it.

I sure hope you're being sarcastic.

Define "regular exercise" for us. You're adding a lot of extra calories (from fat no less) to your diet by eating all that crap, so you better be getting in a lot of cardio every week or you're going to start gaining weight. I added up a typical fast food meal in another thread a while back and it was 1500+ kcals even without dessert. That's a sh*tload for one sitting considering a typical BMR is in the neighborhood of 2,000 kcal.

Remember, it takes a caloric deficit of 3,500 kcal to lose a pound.....the opposite holds true as well. If nothing else, you're not going to be getting a very balanced diet eating fast food which will put a crimp in your exercising. Crap in = crap out.

It's not great, but as long as you are exercising regularly, have low body fat, good cholesterol levels, low blood pressure and decent sodium levels then it's acceptable.

I'd try and keep it down to once or twice a week if you could though.

Is there a way to measure my trygliceride level on my own ?

If you have to eat at fastfood stay with the chicken (grilled is better but wendy's uses the whole real breast so that is a plus) and stay away from the fries........ I read that a medium MacDonalds french fry package is like 400 calories with 50% of those calories from fat.

I recommend reading the book Fast Food Nation.......... it will open your eye :Q

I run for 30 min. three times a week.
I do SitUps, PushUps, and Crunches (3 sets of 25 each) EVERY night
I do Bicep and Tricep work with hand weights 3 times a week.

The rest of the time I usually sit on my ARSE !

Super-size Mickey D's fries are 610 calories with 260 from fat.

I remember taking my blood after eating Burger King one day and spinning it down for grins (we bio-nerds do stuff like that....plus I like to keep track of my cholesterol levels). You could acually see a cloudy layer of lipids (fat essentially) floating on top of the RBC's. Pretty gross.

From Wendy's website:

Side Caesar (+dressing and croutons) = 290 kcal

Spicy Chicken Sandwich = 430 kcal

Biggie Fries = 440 kcal

Biggie Drink = ~280 kcal

Total = 1440 kcal

That's a pretty hefty lunch to have 5 times a week, IMO.
