I'm helping a friend spec out a new i7 system, and RAM has become an issue. He likes this G.Skill set, but I noticed that it can require more voltage than the DDR3 spec calls for; it needs 1.5v-1.6v. I know raising the memory voltage on the i7 is bad, but how bad is it? If he needed to goose it to 1.6v, would it have any serious implications on the longevity of the chip?
