How Bad Did I get Hacked?

I was doing some remote desktop work from work and all of a sudden I have no access to my router, I had remote management turned on using port 8080. I was able to call home and have my son unplug the modem because I had no idea what was going on. When I got home from work I had to re-install the router software and when I looked in my Internet explorer address bar, there was my IP address with loads of information scrolling down the page. One of the items was something about Gozila.cgi.......I did a google on this and found some stuff that had to do with Linksys routers, bottom line what exactly happened and what kind of trouble am I in?

Any help is appreciated

Looks like a DoS attack and sounds as if you needed to reset the router to factory defaults. It probably stopped at the router. Hard telling what if any "trouble" you are in. Check your PC and any other PC you had connected to the switch ports of the router for anything unusual.

Yes, I did have to set the router to factory defaults, I then changed my password and also disabled remote management. I have been all afternoon changing every password I can think of. Have not noticed anything unusual on any of the PC's as of yet. Is there a search I can do on this kind of attack to learn more about it? I'm not very good at search techniques.

Thanks for your reply.

Well, denial of service in Google will give lots of stuff you could probably narrow down some more dependng upon what you are looking for.

As for your PCs, assuming current a/v, you could run some spyware utilties. There are a number of free one's like Ad-Aware or AVG, my personal favorite.

Try this link EZLAN for info on home networks, remote access and the like. Very good site.
