How bad are your eyes?

So the broad gives me the test and everything and my prescription went up again (no surprise). I am now -6.50 in each eye (contacts) I got astigmatism (news to me) and I failed the color blind test. Despite all that, I think I see fine. Still though, it would be nice if my eyes didn't blow that bad. What's the minimum to be classified as "legally blind?" I know I hit that years ago... TT_TT

-1.5 in both eyes, with a slight astigmatism - i can read stuff up close fine without glasses (and usually do), if i feel like seeing something i have to wear glasses (to drive, watch TV, etc).

I have 20/15 vision. But it's starting to slip. I'm having more and more trouble focusing on anything close up. That, or my arms are getting shorter. :p

I also have a very slight astigmatism that developed a couple years ago in my right eye. Not enough to make the chart unreadable, but just enough to feel like I need to fine tune the focus. And the weird thing is, it comes and goes.

Growing old kinda sucks.

My vision was 20/15 (eagle eyes) until I was in my mid 50's. Now, I use reading glasses.

That's what I get for writing the title song to the movie, "Can I Do It 'Til I Need Glasses?" :Q :music:

contacts -4.50/-4.75 w/min toric correction

reading ability is sort of separate, since even in the best of seers it diminishes in time.

Fortunately for me I have learned in the bedroom it's more touch and go, that see and go ;).

Ready?

L +10 / R +10

Vision classification (ie 20/20, 20/40) - Light Perception

Yes, I was a coke bottle kid in elementary school, but now I wear contacts.

Same here. 20/20, no astigmatism, no signs of near or farsightedness. Never wore glasses or contacts, and never want to.

-2.70 and -2.75 and slight astigmatism

Got glasses next week and they read the darn guy's handwriting wrong and gave me bad glasses, so I get to wait 2 weeks again for replacement glasses.

They went out last night got drunk and got tattoos again.

Tell me about it, they visited my eyes afterwords and raped my left one.
And talked my right eye into going drunken cow tipping.....

-3.50 here. How does the scale for contacts work anyway? Would -3.5 mean my vision is better or worse than say someone elses -6.5?

actually, its -3.75 in one eye and -3.25 in the other, but the doctor said it was safe to go to -3.5 so that i dont have to start keeping track of which contact is which.

Sidenote: those Night & Day contacts KICK ASS!!! I've had them now for just under a week, and don't have to take them out for cleaning, sleeping, etc. IN just over three weeks from now, i just throw them away and toss in a new pair.

-3.25 and -4.00

those are the numbers that are on the boxes of the contacts i've had the past 3 years. i found a 6 year old glasses prescription with -3.00 and -4.00 on it. the difference is they upped the power due to my astigmatism. no torics for me.

20/10

My eye doctor (also my uncle) kicked me out of his office after I read the bottom line.
