I was reading through some of the threads regarding political candidates, potential voting and such, and somehow instantly I got this mental imagery of the typical ATOT'er going to their precinct and voting. Kind of goes something like this:

November 3, 2008
Random ATOT'er: ZOMG!!!!!!1!!11 I need to go vote tomorrow!!! Must post this on ATOT!!!!11!1.

ATOT Topic: Going to vote tomorrow!!!1!1!1

Thread:
OP: ZOMG!!!!!!1!!11 I need to go vote tomorrow!!! Who you all voting for! (Makes poll)
Reply #3: Someone (Then edits it) CHUCK NORRIS!!!!
Reply #4: (Quotes Reply #1)
Reply #6: Beginning of thread hijack...
...

Random ATOT'er goes to bed, wakes up refreshed (after 36 minutes of sleep), plays some WoW, then goes out and votes.

While at the precinct, standing around waiting, looking at folks saying WWYBYWB? amongst other things, finally walks to the voting booth. Looking at the ballot seeing only names, shouts "The ballot needs PICS!!! It's useless without PICS!!!"

Someone leans over to this ATOT'er and explains who the candidates are (assuming Hillary is one of them), ATOT'er thinks "Hillary is a woman?!", shouts BOOBIES!!!! and casts their ballot.

Than the ATOT'er goes home happy to have served their country, sits at the computer and logs in to ATOT, and commences posting.

ATOT Topic: Voted today, who'd you vote for?

Thread:
OP: So I voted today. I hope Hillary wins because she has some really awesome thoughts on running the country. Blah blah blah. Who'd you vote for? (With poll) (Mod Edit)The election is in, your thread is locked. Anandtech Politically Motivated Moderator

I can't wait

personally, my election day (at least every other year) looks something like, wake up, vote, spend all day cooking/watching the news, and then host my bi-annual election day party after my friends get out of work.

while we may have some bad apples in this forum, I think this computer forum has quite a bit of intelligent people. Although we almost have our own language and inside jokes that we play off on, I like this online community. I just wish some people here can just let things be and not get so irrate and passionate about every single event/thing.

i think as a whole, we are a bit more on the cynical side....

You forgot the eight billion posts about how Ron Paul will retrieve the Sword of Omens from Liono's corpse and save the country from the 9/11 masterminds, North American Union conspirators and Federal Reserve.

I think that's a good thing. I think that's basically why ATOT is so successful.

No one said that since this is a computer forum, we are smart.
