How are your surround speakers set up?
You have them on stands?
Floating in the air?
What are some practical solutions?

Im akin to the floating in the air method... very nice to have levitational speakers.

I have 2 at the bar corners of the desk. I hae the rear two at the back end of the desk. I can't be bothered to mount them or run wires along the walls. Sub I stick on the table and the centre just in front of my monitor.

Shouldn't you put the sub on the floor? I don't have surround sound speakers for my computer, but I have a surround sound receiver in my wannabe "home theater" system. I wish I could justify blowing money on speaker stands, but they're so bloody expensive!

Two on the right and left sides of the desk, the center speaker on the top of the desk pointing down, two rear speakers mounted from the ceiling, angled towards my head. Sub on the floor next to me... klipsch 5.1.... insanity.

you know the cd-holders that comes on some desk? i have 2 that are 6"x6"x6" that hold 10 cd-jewel cases...i hid my speakers in there behind the grill that separates the cds...the speakres and grills are black so they disguise perfectly and theyre 4' in front at arond ear level 😀

Building my own DIY stands...cheap, look good...why not. 🙂 (4 of em, 2 larger ones for my Studio 40s up front and 2 smaller ones for the rears)

Front channel on either side of monitor, sub is on floor in corner, and the rear channel are mounted on the ceiling behind my head, firing down-ish. Aesthetics don't matter much as my rig is in the basement. (Where the kids and wife leave me alone....)

Bad ASCII art warning! 🙂

S = Sub
O = Speakers
XX = where I sit
.... shows about where the desk is

All speakers are angled towards me. It works pretty well actually!

They're on stands. One to the right of my monitor, one to the left. The sub is sitting on the floor under my monitor. (Yeah I've only got 2.1 speakers)
