Nothing. Hot cali weather will find its ways to seep through my walls and try to eat my proc alive anyway.

I will be dropping my MB chipset voltage .1 and lowering my FSB 5 Mhz.
(unless I get my massive/bulky/heavy 13000 btu AC unit in the window early)

A nice breeze from the Pacific Ocean blows right through my computer room, keeping it cool enough except for the very hottest of days.

So I guess you can say its "vapor chilled" ;)

As for me, my room is a beast... I can't even sleep at night with all the heat. I open all the windows and turn on 3 fans but its still 86 degrees at 10 pm. Then again I do have 2 computers in this room, with speaker power of around 500 watts, two TVs, and another head.

Tell me about dude, for all the great things about SoCal, we get screwed in the summer. :disgust: I am gonna do an evaporative cooler (bong) tho. Cheap, highly efficient, and combined with direct die instead of an expensive, heat restricting waterblock... well.. I think my cpu temps will do quite nicely :) Plus it's preperation for my new case project.

Any other CAli peeps got some good ideas for case cooling on a budget?[/b] My AC sucks and jacks my electic bill up to nearly $175/month. And that's if I use it sparingly. Maybe you Texans, Arizona folk and other dry, hot friggin' ovenlike-temperature-area peeps got some neat-o tricks?

Nothing, if my processor is no very close to being unstable that a mere change in seasonal temperatures can push it over the edge I wouldnt be running it at that speed to begin with.

Nothing here either...I only run in high 40's with my system even during 80+ degree days so far.....I am not anticpating any problems, and usually never have with any of my ocing except on my amd systems (tbird which ran hot on a cool day!!!)....

I agree with rand....

I run stock everything and while i have noticed temperature increase, its still just fine. I'm on a Williamette core with only 1 intake fan and temps are still very nice. Under light load its 44C. I'll be getting a new system though with some of the OCZ Ultra 2 thermal paste and 5 case fans on a fan controller...

did you say "mere change" ?? I can tell you're in Canada 'cuz here in SoCal the temps go from 60s and 70s F to high 80s and 90s all the time. 20 F aint' a "mere change in seasonal temps"! Unless you live in Death Valley or some other desert with extreme highs and lows between the day and night temps, 20F is pretty dang significant. And I don't run my system on the edge either. Like a lot of OCers, I just like a moderate OC that could be acheived with aircooling, but with improved stability due to the lower temps of watercooling. I'm jealous. I wish I lived in Canada for OCing. On 2nd thought, I'll just go outside and see all the scantily clad women everywhere since it's 85F+ :D It's Friday night!!!

I have decided to leave my processor at clock speed, as 2400+ is plenty and making it go any faster just doesn't make any sense at all.

Have an electronic thermostat that has timed control over the AC & Heat in the house... I simply program it and it keeps the house comfortable through out the day and about 1/2 hour before I get home it goes to snow mode... :)

Also have a large supply of dry ice standing by... (hot here in TX)

If you think SoCal gets hot in the summer, you should come east to he prairies and deserts. Here in Colorado it can be over 100 degrees everyday in the summer, and with 0% humidity, that's not nearly as bad as the midwest like Minnesota where it's 100 degrees all day and all night with 110% humidity!

Anyways, I have central air conditioning and I bought a spazzy new summer case as the one I have now is like a cast iron chastity belt roasting my computer in it's own juices.
