im choosing between:

Antec SX1030 clone (chieftec) with Turbolink CTW420 420W
null

Evercase midtower E4252 with Enhance ATX1125BTA 300W
null

lastly, same Evercase tower with Sparkle SPI-ATX300GT 300W

this will be for a XP1700 AMD chip (stock speed) on probably EPOX 8KHA+ board.

btw what i will be looking for is LOW NOISE. I have extra 80mm Panaflo L1A I can swap in if anything...

I have built a number of systems using the Evercase with the Enhance PSU. To date I have had no problems. I also use Enhance in systems that I upgrade where a bigger PSU is required. The Sparkle PSU is also good but the Evercase w/ PSU is such a good deal that I would go that way. BTW, the Evercase is a great case. Not as fancy or expensive as some others but easy to set up and lots of room. The side panel can be removed in like 2 sec. Get the one that has the side exhaust fan. There is another fan opening in the back to put a 80mm exhaust. With these two exhaust fans you won't need a front intake and temps should be good.

Sparkle makes some really good powersupplies as far as I'm concerned but I've had Enhanced in alot of the systems I've built lately (came with Enlight 7237 and they've run Athlon systems fairly well. Atleast I haven't had any crashes associated with THEM as the result :)

A friend recently acquired that model Enhance PSU- Definitely noisy, and Sparkles aren't known for being quiet. I'd go with the Antec clone- I think CTW is a misprint, like their color "breige." CWT (Channelwell Technologies) is OEM for Antec, their stuff is usually good quality and relatively quiet w/ temp-controlled fans.

I have the Antec SX1030 clone with the 420W turbolink powersupply. It's VERY noisy at 12v. The fans by itself seems to be fine, (quieter than the the sunon case fan that came with the case while pumping more air) but loud when they're together. The air seems to be trapped in the powersupply. There's a constant SHEEEEEEE sound. I moded the fans with a pot and at 6-7v it's very quiet. No problem so far with overheating with the slower fan. The power supply is running a P4 1.6a@2.5, cd-rw, dvd, lan, firewire,2 case fan, and GF3 ti200 with ease. 3.3v rail @ 3.23, 5v@5.1 and 12v@ 11.81v. The case is awesome. I got the black one when it's $55. The build quality seems to be top notch and I love the removable 3.5inch drive cage. I would definately recommend the Antec clone since you already have quiet fan to replace it with.

Jchu14-

So the turbolink doesn't have the little heatsink mounted temp sensing fan controller like the Antecs or most of the CWT line? Just curious, it would have been obvious when you were in there......

Jhhnn,
Nope not from what I can see. The fan stays at the same speed even when the air being pushed out is not even warm. There's some pictures in
this thread maybe you can find what you're looking for.

I have the turbolink 420W and an Enhance 350W to replace it

From a purely subjective view of the build quality I have to say the Enhance is far superior

With the turbolink my 5V would be around 4.88V with a Duron at 1355.. which isn't the biggest load..

The Enhance keeps it above 5V.. at 5.07V right now.

and yes the turbolink is one loud motha... i put a panaflo and NMB in there to replace the two in there stock. Much better.

the enhance isn't too loud though i'm going to put those two fans mentioned above in there to quiet it down b/c i like a quiet pc.

Thanx for the pix, jchu14. That doesn't look like the older CWT's at all- they have large finned sinks, not like what's in that critter. With those sinks, you need a strong fan, not much surface area at all.....

just want to let you know something...i had the turbolink 420w...so i thought...but on the label on the psu clearly stated 420 (MAX) meaning that it is only a ~300W psu...i think this is false advertisement...but can't complain when it is ~$50...i overclocked my system 1.6a @ 2560 with a new psu now...enermax 550W...and now my 12v stays 12 and 5 stays 5 and 3.3 is 3.3+ even under load...before with the turbolink it was pulling 11.5 under load with vcore at 1.85v...5 is below 5 and 3.3 is always below 3.3
