Ok, I'm thinking about getting these suppliments to help lose weight. Anybody have any experience or information on which ones are the better ones? I understand that it's not a weight loss program thingy. I run everyday and I thought these may help me out, but wanted to know if anybody's had experience with them first before I buy them. Thanks!

Xenadrine works great if you are already on a GOOD diet along with a decent workout routine.

I'l second that; I started taking Xenadrine a week ago in conjunction with 2 mile walk and already dropped 5 pounds! I also cut down on starches and drink nothing but water, a little juice, and coffee/tea with no sugar. w00t!

I hear they work well if you read the documentation carefully. But ask your doctor first, drugs like this overclock the body, which can be bad.

I just ride my bike to work, school, and swim 1000m everyday. Good enough for me, and I continue to eat the occasional double double bacon guacamole cheeseburger gladly.

Just go with diet and exercise. It takes a little longer but you will be healthier in the long run.

as long as you're not depending only on the fat burners to lose weight and use it in conjunction with diet and excercise, your results will be great.

They work by increasing your metabolic rate.
Assuming your weight is constant right now, maintaining your caloric intake will make you lose weight.
Combine it with a good diet and exercise for more weight loss.

Do NOT use if you are diagnosed with or are being treated for certain mental disorders such as chronic depression or manic depression.

the ones you are talking about contain ephedra. Be SURE you follow instructions and do not overdo it, as some people are really sensitive. If you have even marginally high BP or any possibilty of heart problems they are ill-advised. I'd rather avoid them, but they do seem to work for some people.

Dont take the caffinated pills unless you just want to loose a small amount of weight in a week or two, they keep you up at night and slowly start to change your hair color after 5 to 6 weeks of taking them (gurana seed dose this), once you stop you get your normal hair color back pretty quick, but I dont think that's healthy. Other than the sleep thing I dont see any serious harm in taking them (they can make you dissy if you dont eat enough), we all know caffeine is very bad for the body and glands. There is a suplement called CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) that dose and AWESOME job when it comes to weight loss and it is nothing but GOOD for the body. It strenghtens the immune system and has the same metabolic speed increase as the caffeine if you take enough. I take a little CLA every day, it helps with water retention and overall skin health as well. If you decide to try this supplement, only buy Twinlab 1000mg, they are simply the best. If you want a caffinated fat burner, get Hydroxycut, it's the best out there, not just for it's potency, but it's quality and low side effects.

On a side note, I feel that most, if not all the muscle tone gained by taking the caffeine pill's is ONLY because they contain chromium. If you want to dodge the possible sleeping problem, I would just take 200mg to 250mg of chromium at every meal, and use CLA and a healthy diet. Just remember that most these fat burners have Carbohydrate blockers in them, so you need to make sure your eating enough food and not just running off of caffeine. You can take Flax Seed Oil if you ever feel any type of hunger from dieting, that stuff pretty much acts like a appitite suppressant for me and a few people I know.

Be SURE to get off the caffeine as soon as your done loosing the weight you want, it eats away at muscle REALLY fast.

Just read up on CLA and it basically said there there is no backing to CLA being much of a fat burner. There is very limited study into it. Why is it so good and how does it effect you in weight loss?

Link to what I read.

You need to consult with your doctor before you being taking any medication even if it is "all natural" over the counter stuff.

You need to be particularly aware of the side effects of any fat burner pills with large doses of caffeine, ephedrine etc. In addition to side effects such as sleeplessness, nervousness, digestive problems, dehydration, thier can be serious potentially fatal cardiovascular problems related to them.

When people take about these fat burner pills increasing your metabolism, you need to be aware that were not talking about the same heightened metabolism that comes with regular excercise and generally just being healthier. These pills cause an increase in non-physiological cardiovasvular activity that can cause serious harm and damage to those with pre-existing cardiovascular problems. You may not even know that you have a potential cardiovascular problem until the additional shear forces on your blood vessels kills you.

Please, Please talk to your doctor.

Absolutely. Talk to your doctor before you being anything like this. There are reasons why certain conditions are called "secret killers" and that is because they have no symptoms...

Exactly. I think you must use what's around you - regular food and exercise to curb your weight issues. For example, I thought I knew quite a bit about nutrition - however, I knew very little. In late-June, I purchased the book titled "The Fat Flush Plan." For the past 3 months, I have followed the plan quite closely (hey, I've had few "junky" snacks along the way) and here are my results:

Weight: dropped 45 pounds in 3 months.
Cholesterol: Dropped from 201 to 143 in less than 3 months. This was with eating 2 eggs at each and every breakfast (I rarely ate eggs before because of all the bad press) and also 4 ounces of protein for lunch and also at dinner. Sometimes, I would eat steak, but mainly ate Tuna, Chicken, Turkey or Salmon.
Blood pressure: Substantial decreases. Under the supervision of a doctor, I've lowered my 2 B.P. medications by 50% because of the control I've gained over my B.P.

As stated, you should check with your doctor before taking any pills or medications - or, even before starting a weight-loss plan. Myself, I've preferred to eat my way down to my target weight - and that's what has been the most successful for me - eating 3 regular meals per day, plus a couple of good snacks with fruit and such during the day.

Actually, it's very un-like the Atkins diet plan. Sure the carbs are cut down quite a bit, but so is the fat. The Atkin's diet allows quite a bit more fat in your diet. The Fat Flush Plan is just that - a plan for getting rid of the fat in your body. There's additional items that you use throughout the day to aid with the "flush" - such as hot lemon water to get your liver bile moving and also unsweetened, watered-down Cranberry juice. Plus the plan slowly introduces carbs back into your diet - I don't think the Atkin's plan handles things in this manner. However, this plan has worked well for me and has gotten me back on track.
