Polk Audio New Monitor 75T Four-Way Ported Floorstanding Loudspeaker

Ok They are marked at 229.99 but theres a coupon/instant savings for 50 bucks off so you can get each for 179.99

Now they say that they are 499.99 regularly. So thats 1,000 dollars worth of speakers for 360 bucks. I think thats a good deal. But I dont know if it will be good for just home theater.

I am using this reciever to power them

ONKYO TX-NR616 7.2-Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver

Whats your current speakers and sub? Those polks arent bad but you might be better off upgrading your sub or if you dont have one then getting one would be a huge improvement for HT.

Full disclosure: Im a Polk fanboi...but, that is a very good price on a very nice set of speakers for you. I do agree with weez partially...youre gonna want a sub. Probably the best bang for the buck is Hsu.

What do they mean 4 way??? I don't see anything describing it as 4 way in the manual other than them calling it 4 way. No mention of what type of cross-over network was used. Only one set of binding posts. Call me skeptical.

I don't buy the 500 regular price. 180 is a decent price for them though.

I debated buying 4 Energy Veritas 6.3 for a secondary setup, but considered my life more important than speakers

Kinda late but I have the "old" version of them the 70 series II for my fronts and they are solid home theather speaker for the money and sound pretty decent for music also. I like the "bright" sound of Polk speakers other hate it. I run mine off an Yamaha A800 reciever. Are there better speakers, yes...... Are there cheaper, speakers yes..... Are there better cheapers speakers, Nope...... At least for home theather usage. And they also have OK bass but have them cut off below 80hz and let my DIY twin dual opposed 15" cabinets handle the low stuff.
