How are these pics?

Tried out a slower 2 second shutter speed today, no real photography experience and so I'm really new to all this. This was taken on a Canon A80.

The rest are unedited because I'm lazy:

I'm looking for any comments/tips/opinions you can give. I only took time to edit the first one, so keep in mind the rest are straight from camera, other than resizing

Explanation: I was trying to get some neat designs from taking pictures from a car. I used the spedometer and the radio to take pictures of from my parents' 04 Lexus ES 330. This picture got me interested, obviously uses photoshop, but gets the idea across. Image

I have no clue what you are exactly trying to do in the pictures, but for no explanation or anything those pictures suck

WHat's that comedic line about the googles that you say to politely tell someone that their picturres suck?

Well, I have NO experience, have taken very few pictures in my life and decided to just take the camera out and give this a try. I'm a complete n00b at this

row 3 coloumn 3 of first person's pics

You need to use a tripod to achieve that effect.

(use tripod; push gas pedal while taking photo with slow shutter speed)

To the right 3, down 3, the gas pedal has nothing to do with it, I'm not talking about the RPM shots

AKA the one to the right of the Type R collage.

Oops, sorry. Then the technique would be just trial and error with using different shutter speeds and different camera motions.

they fall into what i like to call "i just got a digital camera and take photos of everything, even long exposures at night w/ no flash when im driving" snapshot catagory - we see it all the time... if you want to advance your skills, check out iPhotoForum.com

Sounds like a William Hung thing to say -- I have no professional training of photography, I am a complete n00b and I have no regrets at all.

Still not really sure what you're trying to do with those pics.

** edit **

Oh wait, figured it out. Set long exposure. When shutter opens, hold the camera still for a bit so you capture initial image before you get all crazy with the movement. Recommend using a tripod. Set to 4", keep still for the 1st 2 sec, then grab camera/tripod and move it around.

I think the mods got an upgrade a long with everything else. Finally something good in the upgrade.

Cut the guy a break. He just discovered a camara. Just a harmless playing around. Now the trick is how to do this with a camcorder. It would be cool to see a person with a light stick or something writting in midair.

umm 5 is the only half decent one, the other ones i have no idea what you are taking apic of your clock?? try not moving the camera soo much, maybe just a little bit

I've done the same thing in my car w/ my Sony 🙂 I like your first one, the B&W one. Nothing wrong w/ playing around w/ settings and whatnot seeing what you can achieve. As long as you think of it as a learning experience and you occasionally get some cool pics, then all the more power to you.
