How are these for an aftermarket projector cutoff?

Halogen Projectors or HID Projectors?

Usually throwing HID bulb into Halogen projectors will provide far from ideal results (some don't have cutoff shields)
And like the OP an aftermarket projector w/ HID's did not look good at all.

However, some Halogen projectors have pretty decent results
