In the MASS Gumbernatorial race the Republicans are blasting the Democrat Candidate because he was an extremely successful Trial Lawyer. Imagine that, someone who is good at what he does.

The Republican Candidate is getting blasted by the Independent Candidate who use to be a Republican. He blames their incompetence for the problems with the Big Dig (he was on the commitee over seeing the Big Dig and he claims the Republican Governor, Mitt Romney and his cronies ignored all his warnings)

Honestly, I'm loving the ones on YouTube much more than anything on TV. And I love YouTube these days, since I'm following the Michigan race closely, but don't live in Michigan.

Ah, a fellow Minnesotan. The ads have been tame so far, but I saw one that had me laughing last night. Some woman, can't even remember her name but she's running for state auditor I think. It's thirty seconds of her bragging about how she lives in a big expensive solar house, drives hybrid cars, and has a windmill in her backyard which appears to be several acres.

As far as Missouri goes, the ads have been 65% clean and 35% mis(dis)information: Both McCaskill and Talent have resorted to the typical uncomplementary photos of their opponents in their ads, although Talent aseems a little more open to mudslinging by bringing up issues relating to McCaskill's husband's nursing home riches. That was earlier in the campaign though; both candidates have been putting out more of the "this is what I've accomplished/stood for" type ads recently.

There are a lot of close races here in CT, and both parties (GOP & Dems) are running mudslinging ads independent of the candidates. Most hopelessly distort factual situations to make their point and are purely anti-candidate B (ie, paid for by the national party and not endorsed by candidate A). In fact I would say that those ads run almost as often as the ones by the candidates themselves (the candidate sponsored ads are no slouches in the mudslinging field as well).

We also have the Lamont v. Lieberman v. Schlesinger campaign, which has featured mostly nasty ads from both sides since last April (the GOP candidate is running about 4%, runs no ads at all because he has no money, having been totally abandoned by the state and national GOP party, who are funding Lieberman and supporting him surrepticiously).

We have never been a battleground state in the Presidential elections, now I see what I've been been missing.
