How are the bose triports? Any better headphones?

How are these headphones? I tried them out at best buy and seemed pretty good, but it was hard to tell because the output on the things they were connected to was low and the outside noise was high. Reason I'm looking at these is because I have over 100 dollars in best buy gift cards, and I am in the market to buy some headphones. Are there any that are marginally better for the same price online or at best buy? I would prefer to buy at best buy, but I'm sure I could find something else to spend the gift cards on if buying other headphones online would be lots better?

I'm looking for a closed cup headphone that's very comfortable (buying for college) and has good bass. Preferably no need for external amp or anything.

You want Sennheisers! 🙂 Seriously, they're probably some of the most comfortable headphones made with great sound. Most models, even the HD580s sound fine without an amp (though most will say you need one for the 580s.

I'm leery of Bose stuff, not because it doesn't sound good, but it doesn't sound good enough for its price. They are often tuned to have very weird frequency response curves which means your sound is much less accurate.

hmm best buy doesn't really sell any good headphones.. only like sony and jensen... and some other crap brands..
they had some sennheiser wireless ones for a inflated price.. which most people don't even need wireless.. and surely doesn't wanna sacrafice quality for it..

Sennheiser 470's @ Circuit City....

THose and the Grado s60 are the BEST headphones available that do not need and amp.

1. Grados are open so they are very loud externally. DO not get them for airplane listening. YOu will piss a LOT of people off😀

2. I have the sennheisers and LOVE them...the bass is JUST SO LOW...but WITHOUT DISTORTION...very hard to describe as headphones usually don't have this attribute.
