I seen some of the Amazonbasics brand that are more expensive that other items listed when I am browsing Amazon.

Are the AB brand usually worth the money?

I've purchased numerous AmazonBasics items... no complaints yet. They seem to be exactly as advertised.

Depends on the item. I haven't been impressed with their HDMI cables as compared to Monoprice.

Their HDMI (and other) cables are generally close enough in price to Monoprice's offerings, the quicker shipping sways me to them, but I have Amazon Prime. My work uses them almost exclusively, due to the bossman loving Amazon Prime Now.

Generally a fan, except for diapers and batteries. For the latter, I've had no less than three burst/leak while in devices, and those are from at least two different packages/deliveries.

Mini-DP -> HDMI works great. Bluetooth Sport Headphones are "ok". But so are most headphones in that market.

Their lightning cables are shit. Don't buy them and yes, that means even the MFI vertified ones.

I've got various USB and HDMI cables from them and all were good.

Using several HDMI/optical/audio AmazonBasics cables. Also got a camera backpack that I'm happy with.

I would consider them similar to a Monoprice for cables anyway. Most of their stuff looks similar in quality to other house brands like Rosewill (Newegg) or Inland (Microcenter.)

The one I'm using to charge my iPhone is fine, but it's fairly new. Do they fall apart / delaminate faster than the Apple ones or something? It seems fairly sturdy.

I have AB 14" laptop bag. For <$20, it's a great value - very solid build, looks decent, it has enough compartments for chargers, documents, headphones, maybe a book, etc. One of the best buys from Amazon for me, I'd definitely recommend it, I don't think $50 bags from Dell or Samsonite are any better...

got their Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries. Supposedly they are rebranded Sanyo Eneloops. No complaints so far

Overpriced.

For real. If I'm getting a cheap knockoff product then I expect cheap knockoff prices, damn it.

I've had no problems with their Lightning cables, or with any of the other AB items I've bought. I have bought all sorts of cables with no issue, and recently even bought two AB outdoor heaters.

All the amazon basics stuff I've gotten was good quality. The "basic" moniker is deceptive about what these products are supposed to be though. They're not low quality items for low prices, they're items that are often comparable to high end equivalents for mid-range prices. At least that has been my experience with lightning cables, usb drives, and portable power banks. The lightning cables are considerably sturdier than others in their price range. The usb drives were cheaper than others in the same capacity range, but still featured things like aluminum housings and generally well manufactured appearances. The power bank I bought was cheaper than others of the same capacity, but featured a rubberized housing, a more solid-feeling less "bendy" construction, and a better feeling on-off switch than the others I looked at in that price range.

Generally speaking, I wouldn't be afraid to buy most anything with the amazonbasics logo on it, and I think that's what amazon was going for with the line.

Had them fail to work right out of the box and fail after a week of use. Amazon was good about replacing them, but after digging deeper into the reviews there were plenty of bad reviews and horror stories worse than my issues....

Perhaps they had a bad run of them... But I've had far better luck paying $2 to $4 more for another brand.
