How are SATA drives vs IDE?

Well I accidentally ordered a 120GB hitachi SATA drive with my new system, should I change my order? How do SATA drives preform against IDE? Thanks
 
sigh now I'm not really sure exactly what I picked, anyway I can search by an item number on newegg? Nothing in advanced search about it.
 
- no difference in performance.
- have nicer thinner cable.
- more certain to be usable on next mobo or three
- might need a floppy/cd with the driver to install windows onto it (look on manuf's website if it doesnt come with the drive).
