How are Omaha steaks?

I heard that they call you back a lot if you quit using their service, so I was wondering if you could just give a random # instead (or does it have to be verified).

Also, are their steaks good?

Steaks are good, burgers are excellent. Calls, e-mails, and regular mailings following the purchase annoy the crap out of me.

everyone i've asked seems to be a former customer. i'm told it only makes sense if you are buying truckloads at a time.

I've heard nothing but good things about the food. Oddly enough, I can drive to one of their stores and pick some up, but I've never tried it.

I would think that you could buy just as high quality meat from a local butcher rather than a mail order place. At least this way you are guaranteed the freshest meat.

Can't drive - I'm just getting my permit (parents said I can't get my permit till later in my junior year 🙁

I'm not all that impressed with their steaks. Some of their other items are yummy, though-- like the stuffed fish we bought a few times (think it was cod).
