i haven't had a watch in years so don't know too much about them. i'm just looking for an everyday watch to wear so nothing too extravagant thats meant for special occassions.

i'm thinking either getting this Bulova watch or this Diesel watch

any one have any opinions on these two brands or other good brands for about $200?

Ugly IMO....

No need to spend $200 on a watch unless it is part of a certain appearance you need for business or you are making a very nice income.

In terms of build quality and overall quality, mediocre...in terms of fashion sense and unique style, they have watches that'll cover the spectrum. That being said, as much as I love their clothes, I've never actually bought one of their watches.

Although, the one you linked to is pretty mainstream by their terms, and I'm not a chunky-watch fan like the Bulova. I'd watch some of the bigger internet watch stores, as their sales are pretty big sometimes.

I expect to see Brigden in here shortly unless he's out, lol.

I prefer simplicity in my watches both of the watches you posted are ugly. I have a Seiko 5 Automatic and would recommend it for what you're looking for in a watch. For that matter you can get it for a hell of a lot less than $200.

If you're going to get an expensive watch, make damn sure it has a sapphire (? I think) crystal. When my parents bought me a watch for graduation the jeweler mentioned she had a watch with that kind of crystal and that she gardened with it and everything and never scratched the crystal. I didn't think much of it at the time as I had already decided on a Citizen watch.

My Citizen watch has a small scratch on the crystal now. It doesn't bother me that much, but in retrospect I think if you're going to get an expensive watch it'd be nice if the crystal wasn't easily scratched.
