That's not unusual. However, if he's wise he'll excercise a bit more discretion. I personally don't ever want ANYONE to know when I'm carrying. I mean, some freak may want to snatch it and use it on me or just snatch it and run. Those holsters are not as secure as the ones that deputies use while on uniformed duty.
I've seen them in socks, in leg holsters and just tucked into back pockets.
The best officers will never allow it to be shown.

They weren't shy about displaying their firepower before he got there. All agents armed with 4 or 5 weapons and a small but powerful auto slung under one arm. When the pres arrived you saw nothing.
