I have an Alienware X51 R2 sat under my TV that I've had for years.
I've brought it along with various updates- faster WiFi card, updated GPU to a 1060 6GB, increased the RAM, upgraded from spinning rust to a (SATA) SSD. It's served me really well, and I've played a lot of my games on this thing! But it's starting to creak, the Haswell CPU isn't keeping up any more, and I'm getting random crashes. I think it's time to think about a replacement.
What is the state of console sized PCs for gaming these days? I really want something that will fit in my IKEA TV unit, but I'm worried that modern GPUs are just too big and power hungry to fit in a cabinet like that. Is it still worth even trying?
