Same builder, I was under the impression Chieftec or some other company builds all of them. Antec just a reseller...

Cheiftec and Antec. Same manufacturer (Chenming), different power supplies. ;)

You might find differences like fans included and p/s type. Other than that they're the same. Chieftec did make an exclusive agreement with chenming though recently. Chieftec's cases will have a unique appearance in the near future. That's what i read somewhere. They claim there are too many copycats and they wanted to distinguish themselves.

...and their customer service.

I moved a Zip disk from my Antec to my Lian-Li and couldn't find my 3.5" bay cover. Called Antec, totally prepared to pay for a replacement, and they sent me a replacement FREE 2nd day air. Didn't even ask where I bought it from. (even though it was directly from them)

Nice! Thanks for the replies

Would ya prefer a Lian-Li, Chenming (antec/Cheiftec) or some other case?

Antec/Cheiftec is just as functional as LL - you're just paying for style. Great cases, all of them.

I believe both Chieftec and Antec have CWT PSUs(Channel Well Tech) I think Antec may make slight improvements if any and rebadge them, anyway bottom line is Chietec PSUs are decent.

i prefer chieftec because they have aluminum as an option for their dragon lineup. the only aluminum case from antec that i know of is the lanboy. if they came out with an aluminum sonata, i'd be all over that for a case for a 2ndary computer.

All my cases are Antec/Chieftec (Cheming) I have both Antec and Chieftec PSs and all run great. I do like my Antec Trupower though. QUIET.

Started out with an Antex SX1030B with the 300w truepower supply.. that went south on me and took my motherboard with it. So I took that opportunity to buy a new case and PSU. Bought a Chieftech with a 420w Channelwell PSU... Aluminum case, side window, LED fans =T...

I've got an Antec case with a 400watt Antec PS and the identical Cheiftec case that has a 450watt Austin(foxcon) powersupply. Both cases have two rear exhuast fans and 1 front intake fan. The Antec case is much quiter than the chieftec. I don't know if its the powersupply fan or the case fans, but the chieftec has a high pitched whine to it. It's kind of annoying. The only other difference is that the Antec has 4 leds on the front of the case, while the Cheiftec has 2. Other than that they are identical. The Antec also has different pinout on the USB and firewire headers. They hooked out well with my ASUS A7N8X deluxe. THe chieftec however has awkward pinouts and I still haven't figured out how to hook them to my Cheiftec case.

I like the SOHO case with the door, but I wish they would make a deeper version that accepts E-ATX boards!
