how are ATI's win2k drivers these days?

OS

There used to be a huge performance difference between the 9x drivers and the win2k drivers for the radeon family. Is that still there?

I dunno about the comparison. But I do know that I run only Win2K and the current supported (aka not beta) drivers are very good. The performance is there and most featurs (except DVD player - so waht)work.

I'm only running Win2k, so can't compare to 9x performance, but I'd have to say that the current crop of drivers are very good. I've yet to have a problem with them, and games seem to give decent framerates.

I don't have much comparison between 98 and 2k games but Q3 and Tribes 2 run just as good in 2k as they did in 98 for me. I'm using the 3132 beta drivers.

I wish they were Multithread aware like the Nvidia drivers are, i hate playing q3 under 1 processor.

Completely stable under Win2k using an All In Wonder Radeon. No complaints here (related to the video card anyway).

No as to the Sound Blaster Live 5.1 drivers... don't get me started.

So far, i'm liking the 2000 drivers for my radeon VIVO, i'm using the latest Beta from ATI's site, not one of the newer ones. I've got no problems, and speed is just fine in tribes 2 and others. No complants. LWD did post some comparisons up on their main page a week or two ago, of all the benches they ran, the 98 dirvers only won 2 (out of 5 i think).

Translation = They are getting better..🙂

I am also running a Radeon in Win2k & i love it,Urban ops & all games play very well.
I am using the official 3102's and they are very good.
