The truth of the matter is that the American people are far to pre-occupied with being politically correct. Rather then realizing that at a time such as this, certain things they normally would consider to be morally wrong in other circumstances have to be applied for the betterment and safety of the country. Until we as a country and a majority come to this realization we are going to most certainly suffer numerous attacks, its inevitable it seems to me.
I consider myself to be a very liberal person in most instances, but in this situation there is no other way to deal with this problem but to deal with them as they have dealt with us. Maliciously and with no remorse.
We need to close our borders for at least the foreseable future and we need to keep profiling people who appear suspicious. Our biggest problem is our immigration laxness. Anyone can come here and stay here illigally and suffer virtually no consequences. That has to change. Many laws need to change.
Innocent Afghans will die and for that I feel sad, just like I feel sad for those in the towers. It is a part of war. We will not go in there and just rip the place apart. We are being as cautious and strategic about our targets as possible and I think we will win this war with as little civilian casualties as possible,if this war can even be considered one that can be won, at least in a conventional sense.
Anyhow, in response to your original question, if there is another major attack it will have no similarities to the last one and there will likely be no where near the amount of casualties. I also do not believe you can blame the government for this because it is the people of this country that are tying the governments hands right now. This is not the time to be morally correct.
