...get a 1st post on the stats threads when each page takes about a minute to load! And this is on a 512/128k cable modem! I SWEAR it loads faster on Alex's 56k @ 40k modem! 🙁😉

I have been wanting to subscribe for months but my mum won't let me (I don't have a CC, or any way of paying apart from through her 🙁) and i spend lots of time here! 🙁

If your entire life revolves around a computer hardware forum and being the first reply on a stats post for a distributed computing program, then you live a very sad life.

J/k, I realize that was metonymic... But I have yet to subscribe, and I doubt I ever will. Its plenty fast enough for me. But if anyone wants to donate a few bucks, I wont mind 😛
 
Yup, just find someone who is willing to do it for you. It would be pretty easy if you have PayPal. If I had more than $40 in my debit card acct. right now I'd help you out.
 
Subscribing ? NEVER for me !!! I'm patient, I wait for the pages to load... Sometimes it takes several minutes !!!! And sometimes they never load.... And I'm on ADSL 512/128 !!! For me, subscribing is only a way to make money... :disgust:

AT forum is the slowest forum I visit. But I'm supposed to be a turtle... 😉

I know you were joking, but i thought that that would be appropiate to DC and keep it (for once 😉 on topic! It's also frustrating when i want to just have a look at an interesting thread elsewhere and have to wait around so long for it! The reason i got cable modem was to make my surfing faster so i wouldn't spend so long on the computer on the internet, but once i found Anandtech forums and have been posting more here i have spent more time on the computer!

I subscribed shortly after it was offered. I'm too impatient to wait for pages to load. It's too bad the non-subscriber forums are so slow. In case you haven't noticed, rleach2 doesn't read or post here anymore. He refuses to pay for the forum and will not use it now that it's so slow without subscribing. :frown:

I'm on roadrunner (Florence SC) and before and after there was no difference for me. Sometimes even the subscription has got a glitch/delay.
 
Roadrunner here (Clearwater, FL) and the subsriber forums are *much* faster than non-subscriber in most cases. Like muttley said, sometimes there's a delay for me with the subscriber forum but with the non-subscriber there's always a long pause/delay.
