looks nice, doesnt work. The bunk beds share the same frame, when one bed "shakes", both shake.

Depends on how sturdy they're made and mounted. They could actually be quite stable.

PSA: I dont know if I'm the only person who realized it immediately but that picture is quite obviously a 3D render and not real, just an idea in someones head.

trust me - from personal experience - you *will* know when the guy sleeping above you is wanking off.

I'm not sure we'll even see dorms being occupied anytime soon. Schools will probably get use to freshman classes being done online only as a new norm.

Dorms are the only place anymore (okay, aside from military) that shares rooms and bathrooms. Fucking dumb overall.

Not quite true. I had an apartment with shared kitchen and bathroom space. However it did at least lock the bed room off. It was more likely renting a room in a house than anything other than it was specifically designed for it.

What really pissed me off about dorms was not having a bedroom that locked at least. Having to constantly worry about roommates stealing shit was annoying. More modern dorms seem to follow the trend of a bedrooms connected by a shared shower, which is fine.

Which raises a question: Will those beds actually make things worse? With no privacy at all, like the army barracks, and very little privacy like a normal bunk most people will control their animal instincts most of the time. Maybe with the illusion of privacy the guy in the top bunk will go at it like the Energizer Bunny.

The bed is also connected to the floor and ceiling. In theory this should be strong, but if this is a high rise building and everyone decides to get active at the same time, and they happen to go into sync, it would level the whole building once it hits then resonant frequency.
