tennis with the wife on weekends (now that it's nice again) and hockey on 2 or 3 teams weekly. What I really want to do is weight train but I get too sore for my games. Such a stupid excuse but I'm useless if I can't move.

Ease back in to training. If I go 8 days without training and train hard (which I do as I'm not the sort to ease back in 😛) it screws me over for a 3-4 days. By the 4th day I am a lot better but then I don't play Hockey so it doesn't matter to me.

Ease back in. Don't do 3sets. Each session add one more set so the first session you do 1 set of everything with moderate weight. 2nd do same weights but 2 sets. 3rd = 3 sets. Then up the weight a bit. Your body will get use to it after 4 weeks or so then you are set.

Just the same for me when I go running. I am shot to pieces after the first few runs then it gets better.
