how active are you?

I got into the habit of being inactive since high school and it has always haunted me

What I consider being active:
commute 30 minutes to get to campus, attend class(es), do random crap on campus utilizing whatever resources allocated, commute back, spend 2 hours at the gym, come back home around 10 P.M.
typical college student schedule with wasted time
I need to get a job and start being more efficient

I'm not very active which is something I really should change. But 2 hours at the gym? That's a long time. I would think 30 mins cardio, 30 mins weights would be more than enough to be considered active.

I'm hardly active at all. I lay in a bed for eight hours, sit in a chair for five hours, do a little exercise for thirty minutes, and sit in a chair the rest of the day.

When I have to go buy cigarettes (the store is barely 100 metres from my home)...I hop on my motorcycle 🙁
But I'm fit and can play soccer all day if the weather's all right. I just choose/like to lay around in bean bags and smoke cigarettes/drink coffee and mixed fruit juice all day long.

LOL. I was having a similar conversation with one of my mates, when we were coming back from a club. I was like: we don't club a lot, and we don't do much during the day, and hardly attend the lectures as well, and yet we just sit around doing pretty much nothing. He's like: don't worry, this is the time to do nothing.

Active is relative. I toss a frisbee around with my gf on our side yard almost every day now, which is something I would do any day over going to the gym and running on a hampster wheel for absolutely no reason. If you feel good about yourself, know you are healthy and don't hate life then don't worry about it, enjoy yourself.

tennis with the wife on weekends (now that it's nice again) and hockey on 2 or 3 teams weekly. What I really want to do is weight train but I get too sore for my games. Such a stupid excuse but I'm useless if I can't move.

Sleep 8-9 hours, drive to work, sit in a chair at work for 8 hours, drive home, sit infront of the computer/tv 4-5 hours, and repeat.

I would say im quite inactive.

I lift 2-3 times a week, and do cardio for about 10-15 minutes all other days I don't lift.

I'm about to crank up cardio to about 20-25 mins a day for a few weeks to get back into bball game shape for the summer.

I don't require batteries so I guess electronnically I'm passive. I tend to be reactive too.

The reason you run on the hamster wheel is because it's excercise. Playing frisbee (unless playing competitively on a team) is very mild activity.

During the semester, Im up 7am. Drive to Baltimore for work. Drive home for lunch and to do some last minute studying and homework. Drive back to Baltimore for school. At this point in the day, it's about 5pm. Class until 8pm. Drive back home, hit the gym, do some homework and studying, and then I'll be in bed around 1am. I do this Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are usually days to run errands and additional days to work out at the gym.

During the summer, prestently, I work full time, and go to the gym in the evenings. In a couple weeks, I'll have a summer class to add to that schedule.

Wake up at 7am to do homework, 3 children wake up 5 minutes later, shower, go to work (2 hours work, 6 hours meetings), go home to relax, children begin screaming, eat dinner, scream at children (trying to stop that), ground children for 5 years, send them to bed, sit down for 30 minutes of R&R, spend 3 1/2 hours on computer instead, and end up in bed around 12:30am.

Not sure where that falls in the category of active.

Mon: 2.5hr OL and coaching
Tues: relax for now but will be joining an Athletics club in a few weeks but I use to rock climb on after work
Wed: 2.5hr OL and coaching
Thur: +4hr work 2nd job
Fri: +4hr work 2nd job
Sat: 2-2.5 OL and less coaching + 4hr work
Sun: Go out with mates. Use to be Gymnastics until I got injured. Will go back in a few months time.

When the weather is better I'll play some Tennis on the weekends and on my non OL days.

Thats basically my evenings after work.
