how accurate was x3**spoilers****

so I just finished x3, and it was an ok movie. but I was wondering, exactly how accurate was it to the books?

i.e,

cyclops dying so early, professor x being 'killed' off(I did not see the after end credits so if someone can fill me in, that would be great), magneto losing his powers the way he did, wolvie stabbing jean grey/phoenix, and jean grey dying, rouge giving up her powers etc etc

And for those people who keep up with the comics, exactly what is going on now? what happened to each character?

The names were right and some of the powers. Some of the affiliations, powers, and personalities were way off.

I'd say about 50% of the movie was true to the comic books

At best you can say it was loosely based on the comic books.

As far as rouge losing it's powers, I still think rouge has the power to beautify

Way way way way off.

The thing that pissed me off was the treatment of pheonix. Where are the Shi-ar? The M-Kron Crystal? Gladiator and the other galactic aliens??? One of the best story lines in the X men Saga was butchered by hollywood.

also: After hyping Archangel and juggernaught so much in the commercials, I was really disappointed to see only like 10 seconds of them in action.

I think they tried to do too much in a 2 hour movie. Too many characters, too many plots and sub plots, Brett Ratner couldnt handle it all.

You know its a bad movie when the Best part is Juggernaught saying "Im the Juggernaught Bitch".

I want these mother fVcking snakes off this mother fvckign plane, similar lol

first two I at least liked, while distancing myself from the comic book world, the last one was just a butchering

I was kind of hoping they would avoid the Phoenix saga in the movies. One thing I didn't like about X3 is how quickly they killed off Cyclops and the romance of Scott and Jean. In the comics, it was Cyclops that held Jean in his arms as she died but in X3 it was Wolverine. In the movies, Wolverine is the focal point in all three movies. He is the one that has the special relationship with the other members. He has the special relationship with Rogue in the 1st movie. The 2nd movie foused on his past. In the 3rd he has the special relationship with Jean. I'm sure if there is a 4th movie, Wolverine would have the special relationship with Kitty Pryde or another female member. Even though I had fond memories of reading how Kitty had a crush on Peter (Colossus) -- it seems the movie makers want to have Wolverine as the focus of everything because he is such a fan favorite. I like the character too but it just feels out of balance to me.
