How accurate are the temps from CPUID's Hardware monitor?

Just wondering if anyone knows if CPUID reads from the CPU itself or the motherboards sensors or whatever. I'm trying to find out how accrate the temps I'm getting from this program are.
 
99% sure they read directly from the onboard sensors of the cpu itself. i love this program because it reads my gpu also as well as some other helpful things.
 
I think it reads from the CPU now too as I watched the temps change every second when I launched Otrhos. Then when I shut Orthos down the temps dropped very rapidly.
 
The branch structure shows the source. It should offer both if available. My motherboard sensor is Winbond W83627DHG so it lists all information read by it under "Winbond W83627DHG" branch. My processor sensor reading is under "Intel Celeron 420" branch and graphics card sensor reading is under "ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series"..
