$700 off right now

The price is in $CAD and I've been looking for an hdtv lately. This is a little more than I would want to spend, but the $2k tv for $1300 is enticing. Anyone here have this tv? Is it leaps and bounds better than say, a Toshiba 40RV525U, or a 40" Samsung 530 series?

Well the 120Hz is an improvement over the 530 which doesn't have it, so if that is important to you than its a good call. The scarlet is definitely a TV that some love the look of and some hate, but the main feature of it is it is very thin (much more than the samsung and tosh)

Personally I think the Samsung 530 is quite a bit better than the Toshiba. The Scarlet is going to be the similar to the Samsung in Picture quality but also includes the 120Hz and thinness on top of it.

I think they are sexy personally. Within the year I plan to get my first HDTV and plan on getting 52 inch. I have always loved my LG dvd burners over the years and would assume that there HDTV's would have the same quality. Have been "window shopping" many many times over the past 3 years just comparing brands in the store and I have to admit that in the store the LG screens always have the better picture when compared to all of the others. What amuses me is that everyone recommends samsung but to me they always have the absolute worst picture out of all of the other brands.

I keep hearing rumors that 3d tv is coming out and it will require 120hz tv's. Not sure that I like the idea of having 3dtv but just to be future proof I plan to get a tv that is 1080p and 120hz.
