SONY sells plenty of headphones that will be acceptable for you... they have "studio recording" headphones (the ones that cover your ears) nice bass... ranging anywhere from 19.99 to ... psh, you don't wanna know.. I say that the 19.99-29.99 dollar ones are well worth it :)

I use them to play counter-strike.. works great in hearing foot-steps :)

Get some nice Grado SR60 headphones. ;) The best $60.00 you'll ever spend. ;) :D

Get them from Qaudio.com. They sell new ones for $59.99 shipped (via UPS Ground). Bob over at Qaudio helped me out a lot. ;) I'm using mine from Qaudio right now. ;) :D

Be aware that they do not have a shopping cart on their site, just information on how to order from them. They do take Money Orders and such. ;) Email them and ask. ;)

How much do you want to spend? For about $20 at Circuit City, the Koss Sporta Pro's are excellent. I'm not a fan of Koss at all, but when I heard these.. They are fantastic for the money and CC has a great return policy on these if you happen not to like them.

The Porta Pro's are really nice as well at $50, but the Sporta's are a better value. The difference is that the midrange is a bit more open and the bass is a little more controlled. There is a Radio Shack mod that you can do to both sets of cans if you are interested in less bass. The Rat Shack pads are more open (not as thick) and lean out the bass and open up the mids and highs a bit. If you want info on this, PM me and I'll get you the information on which pads from Rat Shack.

I have the Sporta's and couple pairs of Grado's. I personally like the Grado's, but they may not be for you and I don't know what your budget is. They start at $69 retail for the SR60's.

I would definatly check into some Sennheiser headphones. I barely even use my Klipsch promedias anymore because my HD535s sound so my better than them its not even funny. Sennheiser headphones are very compfortable they fit nicely around your ear and they block out most sounds around you. The only thing is they do let out a fair amout of noise. I got my HD535s for 79.99 at tweeter, but I heard you can find them on ubid for like maybe $40 if you look. Another one to check into is the HD495 they can be had for about $60-$70 at most places and they are supposed to be really great. I would suggest checking out www.headwize.com they have a pretty good forum for headphones. Goodluck. Oh and try on the Grados because I have heard they can be uncompfortable after awhile.
