How about showing the original post date..

Instead of just showing when the last post to a thread was made why not show when the original post was made?

Because the most important date is when the last post was. That's what 99.9% of people care about. When 1024 becomes a standard maybe we will look at adding another column or 2 but 800x600 is still a standard, and thats all the room we have.

while it is true that 800x600 is standard, it is hard to believe that so many people are not making decent use of their hardware. i have a crappy old matrox G200 (8mb AGP) yet i run windows in 1152x864, yet i bet there are many people who got a geforce or similar in a computer they bought, and still use 800x600 because thats what the shop set it at.

I agree, unfortunately the reality is alot of people still use 800x600 . I would say by next year 1024 will be the standard.

Why not let everyone decide what to see and what not to see? Is there some technical reason for not including indidualised options like that? - not that I'd really care in this case, last posted date is fine IMO.

I would think that the standard for AT users would be minimum 1024, more than likely 1280.

Sluggo, we gotta remember though that many people who come to the forums maybe fairly new to computers and are asking for some help/suggestions. im sure most of the forum regulars have at least 1024x768, but many others would not.

Plus, if people read the forums at work, they might have an older PC or they might not be allowed to change settings such as resolution. For now, 800x600 is as high as we should go.
