How about Aopen AK77 ProA?

I've got a new one for ya.
After getting a bad ECS K7S5A, I looked long and hard at all the feedback on this and other
forums. I can tell you there is no board discussed that someone hasn't had a complaint about.
Then I came across a Aopen Ak77 ProA at Mwave at a price of $92
Not fancy, just onboard sound along with the normal KT266A stuff. As far as I can tell, there are no reviews on this
board, but since my last computer is using an Aopen AX6BC without a single problem, I'd thought I'd give it a shot.
It has been up and running just a few days, but has worked perfectly so far. This board has a lot of overclocking options if you want 'em.

Other than memtest, I haven't run any benchmarks.
Also, I see where everyone is installing the latest 4 in 1 drivers. According to Aopen, you can use the drivers
provided with Win98se and not install the ones that come on the install disc. Seems to work fine. 😀

Enlight 7237
Enhance 350W PS
Tbird 1400 retail running at 36C with stock fan
Crucial 256 DDR 2.5ns- default timings
WD 100G 7200 2MB (thanks Sam's Club)
Netgear NIC
ATI Xpert 128 (yeah, I know, wimp card, but stable)
External Boca 56k modem - serial
Win98se


 
I looked at it and everything looks ok but it doesn't support ATA133 and it should at least support that.
 
I am just looking for the HOLY GRAIL of motherboards and honestly I am not finding one that stands out and says "YES, I am the one and only motherboard that you shall buy, there shall be no other motherboards before me." and I am waiting until one simply stands out. The Epox board had for a long time been on my list as coming close and then the Dragon + came out and I thought finally a SOYO (a company who I really liked because of my 6BA+IV) board I can really fall in love with again. OH well I guess I am still looking.
 
It seems like aopen is up to there old tricks, building solid trouble free unknown boards. I have an ax6bc that's three years old as my second machine. It started life with a 400 celeron and went to 500, then to a 533@896, then a 600/900 and for a little while a 633/979 then back to 600/900. Planned on retiring it then but got a compuwiz 900 and broke the 1 gig barrier and went to 133 fsb for 1200. Its still solid and trouble free as the day I bought it.

ran an ax63 pro for a bit with a P3 but didn't like the via hoops & tricks to keep everything upright



No glamour, but solid reliability
