i'm sure i'm not alone in not really being an overclocker at heart [but i do like that i can dabble😎] but someone who likes to maximise the performance from their system with the hardware they have.

i know there are lots of webpages out there on google, but there are also plenty of knowledgable folks here in these forums - why not allow all to share the fruits of your knowledge?

speeding up boot-up tips, ways to reduce the fractional pauses in setups, what services can be zapped, what display settings are the real resource hogs etc etc ?

I find www.blackviper.com is helpful, go to his "OS Guides" section for which services to turn off (and why).

Bootvis.exe from Microsoft to speed boot-up times.

Pagefile on non-OS drive. Keep system partition small (4 GB, for example) and at start of drive. Data on separate drive if possible.
