Single post- unbumpable.

Case in point: why is pricewatch down? Latest virus?

Point 2: I didn't know anandtech was changing servers a few weeks ago (I did know it was down, though).

We hold this place in high regard...let's have a place to post (& bypass "business as usual") info re: unusual circumstances.

Just a thought!

You mean like a locked & stickied post? Only the mods can do that, and for good reason. The reason being, of course, that everybody thinks their posts are important, and if everybody frequently used the sticky option, then it would become totally useless and annoying.

Edit: If you have made a thread that might be of interest to all (a LAN party thread, or similar), try sending a private message to "AnandTech Moderator" to see if they'll consider stickying it for you.

I'm not referring to anything we already have or my point would be moot.

I'm suggesting more of an internet "weather report". When unusual circumstances warrant it, we could access info that confirms or explains the situation. One post/unbumpable so 100 people don't put: "yeah..I can't get abc.com, too!" or "REPOST". When abc.com is back up, the post is updated or deleted. Useless info dumped at the mods discretion.

My use of the word "thread" was misleading (thread title edited)... As this is "Forum Issues", I'm suggesting something along the lines of "Web Status" or "Community Bulletin Board" to include virus alerts, various servers status and any other information that pertains to our online community as a whole.

Maybe we need a member or Mod who can update a "news" section on the "today" page?

the problem is, not everyone uses the "Today" page even though it is a great feature.

I think that'd be a great idea. I personally love the today page, helps me out so much when looking for a thread I recently posted in.
