I missed the action (out of town over the weekend) but I heard its bad. Upon coming back, I found out we had water in our kitchen, and a friend of mine had a foot of water in his house. In any case, Baylor College of Medicine is closed for the day, for the person that asked. Almost all the Downtown buildings are closed AFAIK due to water in the parking garages/buildings/basements. My university (UofH) is closed for a week :)) i have summer school!).

i'm working in downtown houston today... it's not as bad as I expected... traffic was a little slower and many parking garages are closed, but you can get in to work... it'll be interesting come tomorrow since the mayor told everyone to take today and yesterday off...

How flat is Houston? There is a part of the city called the heights that is 2' of elevation above downtown.
