uhh...I put the new CPU in...and now...SETI Driver doesnt work 🙁

It justs sits there...CPU usage goes to 100, but it doesnt tell me my progress or anything 🙁

Any ideas?

Nothing is lost as far as Seti@Home Berkeley is concerned if you just delete the SETI folder completely and start over from scratch. I'm not recommending that you do that but just keep it in mind as a last resort. 😉

How long have you waited for an update? Once in a while I've had a WU that seems to take a VERY long time to get started...

Try running the CLI itself in a DOS box with the -verbose option to see if it's actually doing anything.

Make sure that the Setidriver config didn't inadvertantly get changed when you started it up, ie., if the check box for monitoring "using Setidriver" is still checked.

Yeah...it's all still checked 🙂

I'm in Win2k, so no DOS hehe

Smokeball, if I delete everything, I dont lose anything except my progress on the current unit, right? (which as only like 10%, so no big deal)

Far, I didn't wait very long...hehehe I'll sit here and let it "run" while i do my homework...see if something happens. If not, delete/reinstall time.

If you don't have any completed WUs waiting to be uploaded, then the only thing you would lose would be the work you have done on the current WU.

You could have done a WU during the time you've been waiting on SetiDriver to get started. 🙁

You might also want to go into task manager and see if the seti client is active, it should be taking 15-16k memory, anything much less then its not working

As a general rule.. after changing the CPU and/or motherboard you should reformat, and re-install.. I cant see how you'd do it anyother way.. In my view at least..
