Okay, she has no clue which airport of the two major ones in Houston to fly into or where to stay.

Her itinerary looks something like this

Meetings at

Shell Lubricants

Schlumberger

Haliburton

Weatherford Intl.

Smith International

BJ Services Company :)P)

M-I SWACO

Zip codes she'll be in:

77092

77072

77027

77032

77077

77210

Thanks!

the major airport is IAH - george bush international

its wayyy out of the way up north of city center

the major oil companies are 1) downtown 2) uptown 3) out west

she should stay downtown, which would put her close to some of the service companies (bj, weatherford, halliburton) that are between downtown and the airport

she may also stay at uptown (which is geographically west of city center), which would put her in between all locations. schlumberger has a location there, as well as way out west ... where the rest of the oil are

uptown Hotel Derek and Intercontinental are good choices. downtown there is Hotel Icon which is nice, too

Yeah, i just maped all of the zip codes and she is definately from the center of town (downtown) and moving west. Definately have her fly into IAH as the other airport is too far south for her. Definately going to say the Galleria area is her best (Hotel Derek or the Intercontinnental Hotel or the Double Tree). Do warn her though that just becasue she is not all that far distance wise she will still need lots of time to travel as the areas she will be drinving in will have significant construction issues on the freeways (sections of I10/Katy Freeway on the westside of down and construction on the the West 610 Loop North/South bound). Good luck.

those zip codes tell me she should stay in the galleria area. JW Marriott, hotel derek, the intercontinental, the sheraton, the omni. also some less expensive stuff in that area. unfortunately it's foggy or i could see some more logos from my window.

hobby is much closer to the galleria area than IAH is (17 miles vs. 26). neither is particularly hard to get to/from though.

she won't have to use I-10. have her use westheimer. it's actually wider than I-10 is.

did you type in the zip codes? most of them are out west. additionally, hobby is faster to get into and out of, which is usually the main concern for airports. and hobby is closer to where she should stay. i have no idea why people keep suggesting IAH. it's like suggesting DFW over Love.

lol...schlumberger and haliburton are right next to the corporate office of my company. they are out west close to beltway 8, in the westchase district.

there are two hotels right next to schlumberger, the hilton westchase and the marriott westchase. there is a hampton inn that is right next to haliburton if she wants to be cheaper. they are all close together though.

i prefer flying hobby, because i like southwest. it'll be a good 45 minute drive from hobby though. but the drive from IAH isn't that much better either.

feel free to PM me if you have any questions! i'll be working out of the office adjacent to schlumberger from tuesday-friday.

the larger halliburton complex is up really close to IAH
likewise, the larger schlumberger ones are uptown, with the largest (main) out in sugar land

Depends on what type of position. If she is oil field services, she will be heading to sugar land, and halliburton up by the airport. Just about everything else will put her off of San Felipe for both of those meetings. Shell lubircants is west off of Highway 6 so its a bit more out of the way than the rest of the sites.

I would stay at hotel DEREK if you can pony up the costs. If not there are many hotels right in the same area.

I prefer to fly into IAH (and I live in sugar land) over flying into Hobby. Since she is going to be downtown, this should be about the easiest way in.

Again, if I were doing that trip I would stay in the galleria area. I work in the Schlumberger tower off San Felipe and St. James.

Shell's headquarters are also down town. However they've got a refinery East of the city, a research campus very West of the city, and a smaller research campus south of the city.

Schlumberger is located fairly close to Hobby airport, I believe.

I prefer Hobby to Bush, it's closer and less crowded. Hobby would probably be the better airport to fly into, and a hotel near the airport would serve all the locations she needs to hit pretty well.

lol, but I don't work for Schlumberger anymore ;) I work for Atos Origin.

Oh and I was off today to watch basktetball. I do it every year. The first 2 rounds of NCAA are my favorite time for a little personal RnR.

spider?

No Spider, I promise. She was in town from Charleston yesterday when I asked. She had dropped by my shop to hang out. She met her old boss for lunch and had planned on coming back by to see me. At that point I was going to get her to 'model' ;) in my showroom for some pics 'to put up on my stores new website'.

But alas, she couldn't make it back by and had to get back to Charleston :(. I'm going down to see her in a few weeks and I promise I'll update with a pic AS SOON AS POSSIBLE :)

I only have one older grainy cam phone pic and it doesn't do her justice, so no dice.

Have faith in me ATOT, I won't let you down!
