I was up in the attic the other day, and was wondering if anyone has any idea what this is?? It has been there a while (since I bought the place a year ago). I assume if isn't from leakage b/c it is localized and the wood isnt discolored. Pretty sure it isn't mold eihter - it is VERY dry. Could it just be dirt from when it was originally installed? Thanks in advance!

Looks like it was on the plywood when the roof was installed. Is the white stuff contained on that board only?

Looks like somebody spilled some paint on the wood before it was put on.

Yeah, from the pic, it looks like someone spilled paint on the plywood before it was installed.

Cool. I would have a heart attack if I needed to put a roof on now. This place is costing me soo much it isn't even funny. On the bright side, in a few years the house will be essentially new.
