Housing prices are outrageous!

I'm sick and tired of having to come home early to find a parking spot. When running errands in the evening, I dread going out since I might come home and not be able to find a parking spot. I'm starting to look for houses in my area but it seems the ones in the nice area cost way too much! A rowhome ranges anywhere from $80,000 - $300,000. The ones I've seen that has garages or adequate parking spaces are more than $200k! I've found one for $99k and I will be calling tomorrow.

I live in Philly and I know it's not as bad as let's say California where prices are ridiculously high! However, at the rate I'm going I dont think I nor my kids will be able to afford a decent house to live in, unless one wants to live on an unsafe block.

I highly doubt it. I cant imagine the markets in Philly, LA, NY bursting. For example, in Philly alone, there are tons of new constructions going on. Just downtown Philly, two condos are being constructed. We're talking in excess of $3 million for a suite on the top floor. Yikes! All I want is a nice three bedroom home with a garage.

Its good for me since I'm in the real estate investment business, but I havent begun making money as of yet. Once I do maybe then will I be able to afford these "nice houses."

Nah ... staying in Philly. I dont think I can ever leave. I wouldnt mind moving to the suburbs, but for now PA is my home.

On another note.... I'm having a memorial day cookout.. I have enough room on my property to accomodate a hundred or so people (and their cars) - not that I'm inviting that many. Plus, I get to have a huge bonfire in the back yard 🙂 S'mores anyone? I got the marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate tonight at the grocery store.... and I didn't have to worry about parking when I got back home 🙂

But, if you like the higher quality big city PA life... fear of leaving the house in the evening because you won't have a parking spot when you return... then so be it. 🙂 😛 (rubbing it in)

i live in south florida and lookign for a plan to move to a new state after college as theres no way ill be able to afford a house here unless the market plummets fast but i dont see that happening
